Markus Stenz concludes his 2017/18 season with Mozart's "Requiem" in Amsterdam

Mozart composed everywhere. On the road and in restaurants. And even on his own deathbed. He could only compose two thirds of his "Requiem" when he died. Two of his students took over and finished the work. In this "Requiem", , Mozart gives the ecclesiastic texts a human dimension. Fear, hope, love and resignation, everything can be found in this requiem. This work will be performed by the Radio Filharmonisch Orkest, the Groot Omroepkoor and internationally renowned soloists under the baton of Markus Stenz (Concertgebouw Amsterdam, 8 July 2018).

Before the requiem, they play Haydn's Symphony No. 104. This is the last and twelfth of a row of symphonies which Haydn composed on occasion of two visits to London.
